Rio Real Golf

This fabulous Course has been an important part of golf in the Costa del Sol since 1965 and is just a five minute drive out of the center of Marbella.

Rio Real Golf was built by Spain’s most famous Golf Architect Javier Arana and is extremely popular for many reasons. The front 9 holes are built on gently rolling hills and the back 9 on very flat land making it a favorite for those who want a bit more exercise and want to walk the round. The beautiful vegetation and the moderate Mediterranean climate also contribute to its fame.

Even though there are not a lot of elevation changes and the fairways are quite wide, the course should not be considered easy by any means. It is an excellent challenge for every type of player with its many slight dog legs, an accumulation of bunkers, a few water hazards and the extreme 90º dog leg at the 10th hole.

This is an Academy course with state of the art practice facilities. After your round there is a charming clubhouse which overlooks the 9th where you can relax with a cool drink. An excellent restaurant and a pro shop can also be found here as well as a sauna and a swimming pool.
