Royal Obidos Golf

Designed by the great Seve Ballesteros and opened in 2012, this fresh and progressive par 72 course delivers challenges, facilities and amenities to the highest possible standard.

The Royal Obidos golf course benefits from the experience and modern technologies developed by its peers. Designed by the great Seve Ballesteros this fresh and progressive par 72 course delivers every facility and amenity to the highest possible standard.

The design ensures that it is playable and more importantly enjoyable regardless of which your tee choice and handicap. The front nine are an interesting combination of holes which overlook the beautiful Lagoa de Óbidos (lagoon), with the 3rd being noted for its island green that requires careful club selection before taking aim for the pin.

You will not fail to enjoy the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean as you commence the back nine, but water is not only here for the view, as six of the holes are dissected by an intricate system of lakes and streams. One of the highlights is the par 5, 490m 18th hole, requiring you to place your drive between the fairway bunkers, to then move on and avoid the lure of the water hazard to the left side. A good approach to the green will ensure you finish on a high!

The modern spacious clubhouse is home to the golf academy, pro-shop, and club members providing driving range facilities, showers, locker rooms and club storage in addition to relaxing and comfortable lounges, terraces and “The Legend Restaurant” which offers an extensive menu of delicious snacks as well as gourmet dining.
